Crystal Structure of Subtilisin 2z2x

Template:STRUCTURE 2z2x

Subtilisin is a serine protease. It is widely used commercially in detergents. A 77 amino acid propeptide is cleaved from the N-terminus of pro-Sub to create the mature active enzyme. The images at the left and at the right correspond to one representative Subtilisin, i.e. the crystal structure of native mature subtilisin from Thermococcus kodakarensis (2z2x). See detalis in User:Tommie Hata/Introduction to Protein Engineering-Subtilisin.
