Polyhedrin is a viral protein in cytoplasmic polyhedrosis viruses which parasitize insects. Polyhedrin forms a protective layer around a virus and resists its solubilization and thus ensures its long-term viability[1].

Relevance

Polyhedrins protect viruses which cause disease in silkworm[2].
