Tissue factor

Function Tissue factor (TF) is a high-affinity receptor for the blood coagulation factor VII. The TF/factor VII complex is responsible for the initiation of the coagulation protease cascade. Disease TF is involved in cancer angiogenesis and metastasis. Relevance TF expression by cardiac myocytes is important to maintain heart hemostasis under normal and pathologic conditions.
