Transcription factor tau
FunctionTranscription factor tau or TFIIIC is required for transcription of tRNA and 5S RNA genes by RNA polymerase III[1]. TFIIIC conserved complex is involved in the mechanism controlling general genome organization[2]. TFIIIC is a multisubunit protein which initiates transcription complex assembly on tRNA by binding to the internal box B promoter element of RNA polymerase III[3]. Structural highlights |
