Function

BRCA1 and BRCA2 or breast cancer type 1 susceptibility protein are tumor suppressors which help repair damaged DNA.

Disease

Mutations in BRAC1 and BRAC2 are associated with increased risk of breast cancer, ovarian cancer and to a lesser extent with other cancers[1].
