Mandelate racemase

Mandelate rasemase (MAR) catalyzes the interconversion of enantiomers of mandelate (S to R). MAR is Mg-dependent. MAR can racemize other alpha-hydroxy carbonyl compounds. MAR is involved in aromatic acids catabolism.
