Structural highlights

2a1y is a 1 chain structure with sequence from Bacillus anthracis. Full crystallographic information is available from OCA. For a guided tour on the structure components use FirstGlance.
Ligands:
Gene:guaC (Bacillus anthracis)
Activity:GMP reductase, with EC number 1.7.1.7
Resources:FirstGlance, OCA, RCSB, PDBsum

Function

[GUAC_BACAN] Catalyzes the irreversible NADPH-dependent deamination of GMP to IMP. It functions in the conversion of nucleobase, nucleoside and nucleotide derivatives of G to A nucleotides, and in maintaining the intracellular balance of A and G nucleotides (By similarity).
