Crystal Structure of NEDD8, 1ndd










NEDD8 is a ubiquitin-like protein in human. It facilitates ubiquitin conjugation. It participates in the recruitment of E2 to the ubiquitin ligase complex. NEDD8 modifies the cullin subunits (CUL) of SCF ubiquitin E3 ligase. In yeast the protein is called Rub1. The images at the left and at the right correspond to one representative NEDD8, i.e. the crystal structure of NEDD8 (1ndd). Cl and SO4 are shown as space filling objects.
