Function

Basic Pancreatic Trypsin Inhibitor (BPTI) is a small protein which inhibits trypsin and related proteases. [1] For other trypsin inhibitors see Trypsin inhibitor.

Relevance

BPTI is used as drug called Aprotinin used to reduce bleeding during surgery.

Structural highlights
