3D Structure of Fibrinogen
The image at the left is a Crystal Structure of a Fibrinogen Fragment with the peptide ligand Gly-Pro-Arg-Pro-amide (3hus)
FibrinogenFibrinogen
Fibrinogen is composed of 3 non-identical chains alpha, beta, gamma (Fba, Fbb, Fbg) . Fibrinogen is cleaved by thrombin which exposes Knobs A & B to form fibrin - the blood clotting protein.
