Structure of the ESCRT-II endosomal trafficking complexStructure of the ESCRT-II endosomal trafficking complex

Structural highlights

1u5t is a 4 chain structure with sequence from Saccharomyces cerevisiae. Full crystallographic information is available from OCA. For a guided tour on the structure components use FirstGlance.
Method:X-ray diffraction, Resolution 3.6Å
Resources:FirstGlance, OCA, PDBe, RCSB, PDBsum, ProSAT

Function

SNF8_YEAST Component of the endosomal sorting complex required for transport II (ESCRT-II), which is required for multivesicular body (MVB) formation and sorting of endosomal cargo proteins into MVBs. The MVB pathway mediates delivery of transmembrane proteins into the lumen of the lysosome for degradation. The ESCRT-II complex is probably involved in the recruitment of the ESCRT-III complex.

Evolutionary Conservation

Check, as determined by ConSurfDB. You may read the explanation of the method and the full data available from ConSurf.
