MTOR signaling pathway

mTOR (mammalian target of Rapamycin) integrates the input from insulin, growth factors and amino acids. Rapamycin inhibits mTOR by association with FKBP12[1]. mTOR functions as a serine/threonine protein kinase that regulates cell growth, cell proliferation, cell motility, cell survival, protein synthesis, autophagy, and transcription.
