Crystal structure of FMN-Dependent azoreductase from Enterococcus faecalisCrystal structure of FMN-Dependent azoreductase from Enterococcus faecalis

Structural highlights

2hpv is a 4 chain structure with sequence from Enterococcus faecalis. Full crystallographic information is available from OCA. For a guided tour on the structure components use FirstGlance.
Method:X-ray diffraction, Resolution 2Å
Ligands:,
Resources:FirstGlance, OCA, PDBe, RCSB, PDBsum, ProSAT, TOPSAN

Function

AZOR_ENTFA Catalyzes the reductive cleavage of azo bond in aromatic azo compounds to the corresponding amines. Requires NADH, but not NADPH, as an electron donor for its activity. The enzyme can also reduce a wide range of sulfonated azo dyes. The substrate preference order is methyl Red > Orange II > Ponceau BS > Ponceau S > Orange G > Amaranth.[HAMAP-Rule:MF_01216]
