Regulatory protein E2
Regulatory protein E2 (RPE2) is a human papillomavirus (HPV) protein which is required for its replication. RPE2 targets the helicase Regulatory protein E1 (RPE1) to the origin of replication (ori). The HPV ori contains one RPE1 binding site and 2 RPE2 binding sites[1]. RPE2 is found also in bovine papillomavirus (BPV). FunctionDiseaseRPE2 induces apoptosis of its host cells[2].
