Negative elongation factor

Function

Negative elongation factor (NELF) induces RNA polymerase II promoter proximal pausing and limits provirus expression in HIV-infected T cells[1].

Disease

NELF has been implicated in various diseases ranging from neurological disorders to cancer[2].
