Ligands:
Activity:Glutathione transferase, with EC number 2.5.1.18
Resources:FirstGlance, OCA, RCSB, PDBsum

Function

[GST26_FASHE] Conjugation of reduced glutathione to a wide number of exogenous and endogenous hydrophobic electrophiles. GST isoenzymes appear to play a central role in the parasite detoxification system. Other functions are also suspected including a role in increasing the solubility of haematin in the parasite gut.

Evolutionary Conservation

Check, as determined by ConSurfDB. You may read the explanation of the method and the full data available from ConSurf.
