Function

CXE15_ARATH Binds to strigolactones (SLs) such as (-)-2'-epi-GR24(4DO), 5-deoxystrigol (5DS) and orobanchol, and catalyzes their hydrolysis; SL are phytohormones controlling shoot branching and communications between plants and microorganisms (PubMed:34764442). Promotes shoot branching by dampening SL-inhibited axillary bud outgrowth (PubMed:34764442).[1]
