Preprotein translocase

Revision as of 13:25, 4 December 2014 by Michal Harel (talk | contribs)

Preprotein translocase (PPT) is responsible for the recognition and membrane translocation of preproteins. PPT contains receptors and import motor. The translocase pathway contains a chaperone protein – SecB; an integral membrane complex – SecY, SecE, SecG; proteins promoting the release of the mature peptide into the periplasm – SecD, SecF; and ATPase unit - SecA. For more details see SecA PBD motions.
