[NR1D1_HUMAN] Functions as a constitutive transcriptional repressor. In collaboration with SP1, activates GJA1 transcription (By similarity). Possible receptor for triiodothyronine.[1] [2] [NCOR1_HUMAN] Mediates transcriptional repression by certain nuclear receptors. Part of a complex which promotes histone deacetylation and the formation of repressive chromatin structures which may impede the access of basal transcription factors.[3]
