Glycoside hydrolase AGlycoside hydrolase A

Structural highlights

5gsl is a 2 chain structure with sequence from Pyrococcus horikoshii OT3. Full crystallographic information is available from OCA. For a guided tour on the structure components use FirstGlance.
Method:X-ray diffraction, Resolution 2.6Å
Ligands:
Resources:FirstGlance, OCA, PDBe, RCSB, PDBsum, ProSAT

Function

GLMA_PYRHO Exo-type enzyme that specifically cleaves the non-reducing terminal glycosidic bond of chitooligosaccharides (PubMed:16912928, PubMed:28130448). Catalyzes the hydrolysis of GlcN-GlcNAc to glucosamine (GlcN) and N-acetylglucosamine (GlcNAc) (PubMed:28130448). Involved in chitin degradation (PubMed:16912928). Can also hydrolyze chitosan and chitooligosaccharides of various chain lengths (PubMed:16912928).[1] [2]
