FunctionNuclear transcription factor Y (NFY) binds to a CCAAT sequence of gene promoters. NFY contains 3 subunits while subunit α binds the promoter box sequence[1]. See details in NF-Y Transcription Factor. RelevanceNFY is a regulatory factor for many genes which are overexpressed in many kinds of cancer[2].
