Disease[METK1_HUMAN] Defects in MAT1A are the cause of methionine adenosyltransferase deficiency (MATD) [MIM:250850]; also called MAT I/III deficiency. MATD is an inborn error of metabolism resulting in isolated hypermethioninemia.
