Structural highlights

8b2a is a 2 chain structure with sequence from Staphylococcus aureus. Full crystallographic information is available from OCA. For a guided tour on the structure components use FirstGlance.
Method:X-ray diffraction, Resolution 1.65Å
Ligands:, ,
Resources:FirstGlance, OCA, PDBe, RCSB, PDBsum, ProSAT

Function

AROD_STAAB Involved in the third step of the chorismate pathway, which leads to the biosynthesis of aromatic amino acids. Catalyzes the cis-dehydration of 3-dehydroquinate (DHQ) and introduces the first double bond of the aromatic ring to yield 3-dehydroshikimate.
