====FirstGlance in Jmol====
Smoothness of rotation is not the only thing to consider when using [[FirstGlance in Jmol]]. With FirstGlance in Jmol version 2.74 (January, 2019), Chrome is MUCH SLOWER to display large nucleic acid structures than is Firefox. Even with ~21,000 RNA atoms (1x8w), Chrome takes three-times as long as Firefox to load and display the molecule. With large RNA molecules (e.g. 5LMT, ~56,000 atoms) Chrome takes a very long time (>6 min), while Firefox takes one third or less that time. The slowness in loading large RNA models is due to pre-processing code in FirstGlance, not the Internet transfer time (which takes usually <10 sec). The pre-processing code may be streamlined in a future version.
Meanwhile, for large RNA molecules, [[Installing and enabling Java|use Java]] which displays these structures in FirstGlance in less than half a minute. Java will also be worthwhile when exploring protein-only molecules with >50,000 atoms.
