Function

Prolactin receptor (PRLR) mediates the prolactin hormone signal transduction cascade. Prolactin-dependent signaling occurs as a result of a ligand-induced dimerization of the PRLR[1].

Relevance

The signaling action of PRLR/prolactin complex serve to control the pattern of gene expression that contributes to breast development and the pathobiology of breast cancer[2].
