Structural highlights

1vdl is a 1 chain structure with sequence from Lk3 transgenic mice. Full experimental information is available from OCA. For a guided tour on the structure components use FirstGlance.
Gene:RIKEN cDNA 2610101O11 (LK3 transgenic mice)
Activity:Ubiquitin thiolesterase, with EC number 3.1.2.15
Resources:FirstGlance, OCA, PDBe, RCSB, PDBsum, ProSAT, TOPSAN

Function

[UBP25_MOUSE] Deubiquitinating enzyme that hydrolyzes ubiquitin moieties conjugated to substrates and thus, functions to process newly synthesized Ubiquitin, to recycle ubiquitin molecules or to edit polyubiquitin chains and prevents proteasomal degradation of substrates. Hydrolyzes both 'Lys-48'- and 'Lys-63'-linked tetraubiquitin chains (By similarity).[1] The muscle-specific isoform (USP25m) may have a role in the regulation of muscular differentiation and function.[2]
