Crystal structure of mouse VPS29 complexed with Mn2+Crystal structure of mouse VPS29 complexed with Mn2+

Structural highlights

3psn is a 2 chain structure with sequence from Lk3 transgenic mice. This structure supersedes the now removed PDB entry 3lh7. Full crystallographic information is available from OCA. For a guided tour on the structure components use FirstGlance.
Ligands:
Gene:Vps29 (LK3 transgenic mice)
Activity:Phosphoserine phosphatase, with EC number 3.1.3.3
Resources:FirstGlance, OCA, PDBe, RCSB, PDBsum, ProSAT

Function

[VPS29_MOUSE] Essential component of the retromer complex, a complex required to retrieve lysosomal enzyme receptors (IGF2R and M6PR) from endosomes to the trans-Golgi network. Also required to regulate transcytosis of the polymeric immunoglobulin receptor (pIgR-pIgA). Has low protein phosphatase activity towards a serine-phosphorylated peptide derived from IGF2R (in vitro) (By similarity). Has no activity towards p-nitrophenylphosphate, p-nitrophenylphosphorylcholine or phosphatidylinositlphosphates (in vitro).
