[[Telomerase]] (TEL) adds DNA repeats to the tail end of telomeres.  It carries its own RNA.  The human TEL is composed of 2 Telomerase Reverse Transcriptase (TERT), 2 Telomerase RNA (TERC) and 2 dyskerin (DKC1) molecules. The images at the left and at the right correspond to one representative Telomerase structure, ''i.e.'' crystal structure of catalytic subunit of telomerase, TERT, from ''Tribolium castaneum'' ([[3du5]]).
