Crystal Structure of a Mutant (gammaT157A) E. coli Clamp Loader Bound to Primer-Template DNACrystal Structure of a Mutant (gammaT157A) E. coli Clamp Loader Bound to Primer-Template DNA

Structural highlights

3glg is a 14 chain structure with sequence from Escherichia coli K-12. Full crystallographic information is available from OCA. For a guided tour on the structure components use FirstGlance.
Method:X-ray diffraction, Resolution 3.25Å
Ligands:, , ,
Resources:FirstGlance, OCA, PDBe, RCSB, PDBsum, ProSAT

Function

HOLA_ECOLI DNA polymerase III is a complex, multichain enzyme responsible for most of the replicative synthesis in bacteria. This DNA polymerase also exhibits 3' to 5' exonuclease activity. The delta subunit seems to interact with the gamma subunit to transfer the beta subunit on the DNA.

Evolutionary Conservation

Check, as determined by ConSurfDB. You may read the explanation of the method and the full data available from ConSurf.
