Acetate kinase from a hypothermophile Thermotoga maritimaAcetate kinase from a hypothermophile Thermotoga maritima

Structural highlights

2iir is a 10 chain structure with sequence from Thermotoga maritima. Full crystallographic information is available from OCA. For a guided tour on the structure components use FirstGlance.
Method:X-ray diffraction, Resolution 3.3Å
Resources:FirstGlance, OCA, PDBe, RCSB, PDBsum, ProSAT

Function

ACKA_THEMA Catalyzes the formation of acetyl phosphate from acetate and ATP. Can also catalyze the reverse reaction. Phosphorylates propionate (54%) in addition to acetate (100%). Uses GTP (100%), ITP (163%), UTP (56%), and CTP (21%) as phosphoryl donors in addition to ATP (100%).[1]

Evolutionary Conservation

Check, as determined by ConSurfDB. You may read the explanation of the method and the full data available from ConSurf.
