HIGH-RESOLUTION CRYSTAL STRUCTURE OF THE ESCHERICHIA COLI DNA REPAIR ENZYME ENDONUCLEASE IVHIGH-RESOLUTION CRYSTAL STRUCTURE OF THE ESCHERICHIA COLI DNA REPAIR ENZYME ENDONUCLEASE IV

Structural highlights

1qtw is a 1 chain structure with sequence from Escherichia coli. Full crystallographic information is available from OCA. For a guided tour on the structure components use FirstGlance.
Method:X-ray diffraction, Resolution 1.02Å
Ligands:
Resources:FirstGlance, OCA, PDBe, RCSB, PDBsum, ProSAT

Function

END4_ECOLI Endonuclease IV plays a role in DNA repair. It cleaves phosphodiester bonds at apurinic or apyrimidinic sites (AP sites) to produce new 5'-ends that are base-free deoxyribose 5-phosphate residues. It preferentially attacks modified AP sites created by bleomycin and neocarzinostatin.

Evolutionary Conservation

Check, as determined by ConSurfDB. You may read the explanation of the method and the full data available from ConSurf.
