FunctionPhotosystem I (PSI) is the second photosystem in the light harvesting systems of plants, algae and some bacteria. PSI is composed of 11 protein subunits, cytochrome b6, ferredoxin, plastocyanin, 4 phospholipids, 5 chlorophyls and carotenoid pigments, 3 coenzymes, Ca+2 and Mg+2 ions[1].
