Function

Trichodiene synthase (TCS) catalyzes the conversion of trans,trans-farnesyl diphosphate to trichodiene and diphosphate (PP). TCS belongs to the family of sesquiterpene syntases which cyclize the acyclic farnesyl diphosphate to a sesquiterpene. TCS contains metal ion-binding motif[1].
