Ribosome biogenesis protein

Function

Ribosome biogenesis proteins or ribosome assembly factor are factors which contribute to the maturation of the ribosome.

Interactive 3D figure on right side shows: Ribosome biogenesis protein Nop10 (pink) complexed with pseudouridine synthase (grey), GAR1 (green), ribosomal protein L7AE (yellow), H/ACA RNA (magenta) and RNA containing pseudouridine (cyan) (PDB code 3hay)

  • Erb1 Nop7 and Ytm1 are essential for the correct ribosomal RNA processing[1].
  • Nop10 is part of the nucleoprotein particle which catalyzes RNA pseudouridylation and direct processing of ribosomal RNA[2].
  • Utp30 is a ribosomal L1 domain-containing protein which is part of the 90S preribosome[3].
  • Tsr1 is essential for cytoplasmic steps in the 40S ribosomal subunit maturation[4].
  • Nep1 is essential in 18S ribosomal RNA procssing[5].
  • Bms1 is part of a complex required for the 40S ribosomal subunit maturation[6].
