Ribosomal protein S6 (RPS6) is one of the 21 proteins which belong to the 30S of the bacterial ribosome or the 30 proteins which belong to the 40S small subunit of the eukaryotic ribosome. It has a role in regulating translation of RNAs that contain the 5' terminal sequence[1]. It is regulated by ribosomal S6 kinase.
