Function

Pleurotolysin (PTL) is a pore-forming cytolysin from Pleurotus ostreatus. PTL is a two-component cytolysin composed of non-associated PTL A (17kDa) and PTL B (59kDa) which cooperatively cause leakage of potassium ions from human erythrocytes and swelling of the cells leading to colloid-osmotic hemolysis[1].
